Yesterday was yet another demonstration of the core value of the Trump administration–cruelty.  As has been recently reported, AG Jeff Sessions made a big show of the policy of separating children from their parents at the border, but we later learned that nearly 1,500 kids so separated were “missing”.  That is, they couldn’t be located by the apparatus responsible for their placement.

This fact has produced a steadily building firestorm of criticism and concern by Democrats that erupted yesterday on social media when Trump had the gall to (once again) blatantly lie on Twitter by accusing Democrats of somehow being responsible for the cruel situation of the missing children.  Here is a good summary of the shitstorm from Slate:

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2018/05/outrage-grows-as-horror-of-policy-to-split-children-and-parents-at-border-becomes-clear.html

Trump is not only constitutionally incapable of accepting responsibility for anything negative, but he must also put the blame on others for the negative things done on his watch.  He might as well blame the Democrats for forcing him to play golf at Mar-a-Lago every weekend.  But that’s who he is, and always has been–a profoundly insecure grifter who lies about everything.

Meanwhile, anyone with a conscience is horrified and heartbroken that people coming to America seeking asylum, or merely a better life, are having their families ripped apart, and now their children misplaced.  It goes against everything we say our nation stands for (concern for children, due process, the American Dream, compassion, etc.).

Apparently, Rep John Faso is without a conscience, because as of this writing he has said ZERO about the scandal of the missing children, much less the constant bald-faced lying of Trump and his advisers.  Faso may or may not be part of Trump’s cruelty coalition, but he certainly values the priorities of his billionaire backers to the exclusion of almost everything else.

With every passing day, and every new Trump insult to our norms and injury to our institutions, it is increasingly imperative that we do all we can to Fire Faso and replace him with a Rep who votes and volcalizes our values.  Faso is a failure, and can’t be counted on to stand up to a pathological and heartless president.  Keep resisting…
